work consists of two large volumes of interesting historical references to the pre-unification to the laws on the functioning of the courts of the Kingdom, later became, with the unification of ' Italy, regional courts. Despite the publication date (1920), the two volumes maintain a certain "freshness" about the issues and stance of interest, yet impact on the Italian trial. A little curiosity: the dedication bears the date 1919 though the year of publication of both volumes is that of 1920, I refer readers to an essay by prof. Cipriani fair trial, p. 791 ff. with which an interpretation is given to the discrepancy in the dates.
